Beinn Chabhair, Crianlarich, 1999

This was one of my very last mountains of the last millennium and it was a splendid one. Although the day started of cloudy, late in the afternoon it cleared and we were treated to lovely views. As we were reaching the top the sun was getting low in the sky, adding lovely colours to everything. Of course this had its problems - we did much of the descent in the dark - but I think it was worth it.

When your shadows are that long you ought to be on the way down!
